How do I start my order? You can begin by filling out our Bespoke Inquiry Form. For quick questions, feel free to text or WhatsApp us at 07960 910555.
Can I have a consultation before booking? For wedding orders, I offer dedicated consultations (usually via Zoom for your convenience). While formal consultations are held after a booking is secured, I am always happy to have a quick phone chat first—partly to answer your questions and partly to prove I’m a real human, not a "cake bot!"
Can you "copy" a cake design? I love taking inspiration from your Pinterest boards and vision, but I do not replicate other artists' work. Your cake should be unique to your story, so I will always add a "DBAM twist" to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece just for you.
How do I secure my date? To protect our schedule and administrative time, a payment is required to secure your booking. Depending on the scale of your order, we offer a sliding scale for instalments, which will be detailed in your initial invoice. All fees must be settled before the oven is even turned on!
What is your refund policy? Because we begin purchasing materials, turning down other inquiries, and dedicating admin time to you immediately, all payments are non-refundable. When you book with DBAM, you are entering a creative contract—please ensure you’ve reviewed our full T&Cs first.
Do you charge a "Wedding Tax"? Absolutely not. We do not inflate costs just because the word "Wedding" is used. Our pricing is transparently based on time, high-end materials, and structural complexity.
Can each tier be a different flavour? Absolutely! There is no extra charge for variety. I usually recommend one "crowd-pleaser" tier (like our Madagascar Vanilla, chocolate or lemon) and one "adventurous" tier that is purely for you.
Can I taste the cake first? Yes! We offer Wedding Taster Boxes for £35 (6 flavours of your choice). For orders over £470, this cost is fully deducted from your final balance. Tasters are available for collection from BH10 or we can deliver at agreed price if you live in BCP Or via mail 2–3 times a year.
Can you add a personal message? We can certainly add piped messages, names, or ages to your design for a small additional artistry fee.
Do you offer bespoke or shaped cakes? Yes! From intricate sugar craft to ambitious sculpted shapes, we love a challenge. If you have a specific vision in mind, share it with us, and we will advise on the best way to bring it to life.
How much notice do you need?
Do you hire cake stands and props? Absolutely! A grand cake deserves a grand pedestal. We offer a curated range of high-quality stands and props for hire (typically between £20 and £30), plus a returnable security deposit. This service is available for all orders over £100.
How do I return the props? We offer two easy ways to handle the return of your stands and separators:
Please ask for a collection quote when booking your rentals.
Do you deliver? For any cake over 2 tiers, professional delivery is highly recommended (and required for weddings). “Delivery and professional on-site setup are calculated based on your venue's distance from our Kinson (BH10) studio.”
| Zone | Area Covered | Flat Rate (Setup + Delivery) |
|---|---|---|
| Zone 1 (Local) | Bournemouth (BH1–BH11) | £30 |
| Zone 2 (Nearby) | Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne | £45 |
| Zone 3 (Dorset/Hants) | New Forest, Wareham, Blandford | £65 |
| Everything else (Long Distance) | Venues further than 30 miles | Custom quote |
How far do you travel? We generally deliver within a 150-mile radius for fondant-covered cakes and a 50-mile radius for buttercream (as it is more sensitive to travel).
Can I collect my cake? Collection is available for smaller celebration cakes and tasters from our BH10 Kinson Studio. However, delivery is required for tiered wedding cakes.
What happens if I damage it? Once a cake leaves our hands, DBAM cannot accept responsibility for damage. We provide a full "Cake Care Guide" with every collection.
What about Allergens? Our kitchen handles gluten, milk, eggs, soya, sesame, nuts, and sulphites. While we can cater to gluten and dairy-free intolerances, we are not an allergy-free kitchen and cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination.
Why don't you use fresh flowers? Following FSA 2024 guidance, many florist flowers are toxic or treated with chemicals unsuitable for food. Instead, I craft hyper-realistic sugar flowers, or I can source edible-grade blooms from registered organic growers.
How big are your cakes? We like them tall! Our Standard Height is 7”, and our Double Barrel is a grand 9”. Our 6" cakes feed approx. 14, while our 3-tier stacks feed approx. 80.
Do you do Corporate events? Yes! We can incorporate company logos and branding for your corporate milestones. Reach out for a bespoke business quote.
If you still have questions, I’d love to hear from you.
